Our Story

Riverview Crouch Valley is a vineyard in the renowned Crouch Valley wine region of Essex, England, set on 10 acres of south-westerly slopes overlooking the beautiful River Crouch.

The vineyard was established in 2018 by husband-and-wife team Umut and Katie Yesil. The idea first took root as a conversation around the kitchen table with Katie’s family, third-generation arable farmers who had long worked the very land the vineyard now stands on. 

Through meticulous research, planning and collaboration, Katie and Umut turned their vineyard dream into reality, and are now on their 7th vintage, producing premium single-vineyard still wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

The vineyard is managed with regenerative and sustainable practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and ecological balance. There is no herbicide use, instead choosing mechanical means over chemical. This ensures rich bio-diversity within the vineyard, working alongside nature and not against it.

The result is fruit of exceptional quality, creating wines defined by clarity, finesse, and a true sense of place.
